How exactly does Detox work?

When you detox you are cleaning your blood. The blood will be cleaned naturally by your various organs like your liver, which is the usual place that toxins are eliminated. Other toxins will be cleansed through your kidneys, your lungs, the various lymph glands in your body, and your skin.

It is crucial for all of the impurities to be cleansed from your system on a regular basis. If the toxins get into your blood, they cause illnesses and maladies that can shorten your life span. They can frequently show up as skin conditions, body aches or pains, or even trouble with digestion. If you are trying to lose weight but seem to hold that last ten pounds, you might need to detox in order to shed that weight.

What type of people need to detoxify?
Everyone can benefit from detoxification. The exceptions to this rule are pregnant and nursing mothers, young children, anyone with cancer or tuberculosis, and those who suffer from degenerative diseases. We live in such a toxic environment today that it has become more important than ever to detox at least once per year.

What does it mean to detoxify your body?

For centuries, different cultures have used various detoxification methods to help rid the human body of impurities in order to improve health and well-being. Detoxification is the process of resting the body while you cleanse out the impurities and nourish it with wholesome healthy nutrients.

The impurities can exist throughout your entire body, from the skin to the bones. When you remove these toxic impurities and replace them with healthy nutrients, not only will it prevent diseases, but it will also make you feel renewed and you will find it easier to maintain good health.

The Detox Process

Before the Detox Process
Detox preparation will always be two-pronged, one that focuses on the body and the other, your mind.
First off is ‘the Mind’: nothing beats interpersonal and intrapersonal preparation. You have to be able to not just understand what detox really is, talking to friends that you’re doing it or people who’ve done it before will also be very beneficial.
Second is your body: pre-cleansing means that you’ll watch what you eat and intake. Fruits and vegetables are always better alternatives compared to sugary, high-fat, high-sodium foods and alcoholic and stimulant beverages like coffee. Eat smaller meals too!
The Yoga Retreat has been specifically made with both these vital pre-detox preparations in mind. You can choose to stay in one of rooms or stay at any of the local beaches within the vicinity. Our accommodations will include pre and post detox food and beverages to assist your body. It will provide nourishment, your system will need to remain steady while on detox.

The Detox Process
Key to success of ongoing detoxification processes is digestive system resting. This means during the ordeal, you must not intake any food at all. Mere chewing of anything is also not allowed. On its stead is the intake of as much fluids as possible. This will help acclimatize your body to the loss of minerals you would have normally gotten by eating solid food.
If you expect to remove waste material and blockages in your system, detox can help but the entire procedure can’t just help physically but also mentally and emotionally. Given its power, we advise that you steer away from any negative external influence. Sleep and rest aplenty during detox and surrender to your emotions to have a better grasp of its full benefits.
Exercise and colonics are also advised. Administer recommended colonics yourself, and try either yoga, meditation, swimming, walking or a combination of any to facilitate weight loss as well. Choosing to have your detox process elsewhere is also amenable. You could just come at The Yoga Retreat for your supply of liquids and supplements twice a day.

After the Detox Process
After the procedure, your body will be more sensitive than it was before thus it would be the perfect moment to begin identifying foods and nutrients that will suit it well. Listen to your body! Do not be surprised if you won’t feel quite as good when you first bite solid food again. This is completely normal. Have patience for your changing needs.
Do not feel anxious about it, as it’s again completely normal to feel this way. Reflect and stay positive as always. Breaking your detox program early would require post detox food though and we include that in your stay. No refunds shall be provided.
